Even those who absolutely hate rom -coms are going to agree with us that there is something about The Proposal that just makes you want to watch it again and again. The movie is perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon when you want to cuddle up in your bed with a laptop and watch a movie that is probably going to make you cry but also going to fill your heart up with so much joy.

The Proposal is nothing like your typical rom-com. For starters, it stars our all-time favorite Sandra Bullock in the role of Margaret Tate, a Canadian living and working as a book editor, who is faced with the possibility of getting deported to her country. Out of the said fear, she announces her engagement with her assistant Andrew Paxton, played by Ryan Reynolds.

Despite his reluctance, Andrew agrees to the whole charade, but obviously with his own few conditions. One of which is flying to Alaska to meet his family. What follows is some of the most wholesome yet hilarious moments that bring these two people together, who are poles apart.

The movie does not depict women as weaklings rather one of the strongest leads you can find in the history of movies. Also, the movie was directed by a woman – ten points for that. You are surely going to enjoy this movie if you want to stream something on Netflix, packed with amazing chemistry between the leads, that this movie is quite fun to watch.

  1. Parasite (2019)

Do you know what you will get with thise masterpiece created by Bong Joon-ho? A perfect blend of dark humor, dramatic scenes, bittersweet moments, compelling dialogues, and outstanding performance. This South Korean movie depicts a family that bluffs their way into the lives of a wealthy Seoul household. The whole scheme of occupying a wealthy household goes, if you will, comically wrong.

“Parasite” is definitely one of those movies that you want to talk about for hours and at the same time, you cannot find words to describe what a masterpiece it is. We guarantee, there will not be a single second of this movie that could make you take your eyes off of your screen.

Parasite initially seems like a movie showing contemporary social realism – damn! – it just does not end there. We get to meet the poor Kim family, where there are parents Ki-taek Taek (Song Kang-hoHo) and Chung-sook (Chang e Hyae- Jin), and their adult children daughter Ki-jung Jung (Park So-dDam Park) and Ki-woo (Choi Woo-shikShik). They all are unemployed or a better word is; unemployable.

Immediately when the opportunity strikes, the Kim clan gets ready to embark on the charade that could lift them from the ground. When everything starts to go, oh -too -well, there has to be something that is about to go wrong massively, right? For thisTo find out, you will have to put this movie on Hulu today and get on the journey to witness what happens next with this family.

  1. Lady Bird (2017)

This teenage comedy-drama is something quite concrete to offer its viewers. Some might say that it could change your life. Lady Bird addresses various topics that teenagers in high school could relate to. Or if you were one of them, then do take the walk down the memory lane with this movie.

Christine “Lady Bird” McPherson, played by the brilliant Saoirse Ronan, is a senior at a Catholic High School in Sacramento, who wants to leave her hometown and move to the East Coast. We get to see her complicated relationship with her mother, Marion McPherson. Both women are deeply opinionated and loving at the same time.

This movie is one of those that can resonate with the audience because of the rocky relationship between a mother and daughter. You will not help but empathize with them because it is anything but thea same-old-cheesy teen movie. It shows you the heart-breaks in their rawest forms.
