It is common to find high-pressure drops in cryogenic globe valves. It is comparatively higher than the gate valves. The pressure change is because of the difference in the flow of direction of materials. Different designs of the globe valves result in varying levels of pressure drops. 

  1. Extensive Force Requirements

With high pressure, the valve needs a high degree of force in order to seat the valve. There are several other factors affecting the amount of power required for the proper functioning of the valve. These factors include disc movement, rejection force, etc.

  • Various low-temperature areas and cooling water systems
  • Places like fuel oil systems. At such locations, flow control is of utmost importance.
  • Places where leak tightness is very crucial. These may include high-point vents or low-point drainage systems.
  • Industry-specific locations including feedwater, places like chemical feed, condenser air extraction, and removal & extraction drainage systems.
