Did you know that over 82 percent of Americans have a central air conditioning unit in their homes? As you can imagine, using an AC to cool and heat your home can be very costly. Fortunately, heating a home can be done with different heating systems, which will save you a lot of money at the end of the month.

Do you know how to heat a home efficiently? If not, we invite you to keep reading as we explain the different types of heating systems you can have in your home that’ll save you a lot of money.

Furnace Heating System

Perhaps the most common way of heating a house is through a furnace. Heat is pushed through a series of air ducts, distributing hot air throughout your home. Keep in mind that there are different ways to power a furnace, like using electricity or oil, but the cheapest method is using natural gas.

Boiler Heating System

Boilers are one of the best heating systems to have in your home since it uses zoned heating. This means that hot water or steam is sent through a series of pipes that heat radiators located in different areas of your home. Additionally, boiler installations services tend to be far cheaper than other types of heating systems.

Heat Pump System

If you live in an area that rarely reaches freezing temperatures, then having a heat pump is right for you. Heat pumps use electricity to transfer heat throughout your home, which means it’s more efficient than other heating systems. Most home heating services also install a refrigerant onto the heat pump so you can cool your home as well.

Radiant Heating System

First invented by the Romans, radiant heating systems send hot water through pipes located underneath your floor or on your ceiling. But, there are a couple of downsides to using a radiant heating system. For example, repairing this type of heating is quite complicated and often means removing the floor panels or breaking into the ceiling.

Hybrid Heating System

Another common type of heating system is the hybrid one, which means it can heat and cool your home. For example, when temperatures reach a certain cold or hot point, it will either power up the built-in furnace or air conditioning refrigerant. But, as you can expect, having a hybrid heating system isn’t nearly as efficient as the other types since it’s only half of a heating unit.

Different Types of Heating Systems You Should Consider

As you can see, there are several different types of heating systems you can have installed in your home. But, of course, you’ll want to carefully consider your needs, as each one is efficient in its own way. So, which heating system will you get for your home?
